Original acrylic painting by Shireen. Its loaded with texture and gold paint. The Arabic calligraphy used in the painting collage style is in the Riqa script.

Arabic Transliteration, “Wa la ghalib, Illallah” which means, “And there is no Victor except Allah”. This phrase is etched in hundreds of mosaic tiles decorating the walls of the Alhumbra Palace in Granada, South of Spain, built by Muslims in 889 CE. In this painting of the Kaaba, this phrase is added in collage form spiraling above the Kaaba in the sky. The colorful circular paint strokes around the Kabaa are depicting the motion of the pilgrims circumambulating around the Kabaa.

The Kaaba is a cube looking building at the center of Islam's most important mosque in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. It is the most sacred site in Islam. Muslims do not worship the Kaaba, but it is Islam's most sacred site because it represents the metaphorical house of God and the oneness of God in Islam. Observant Muslims all over the world face toward direction of the Kaaba during their five daily prayers. To be able to visit the Kaaba is the life long wish of most devout Muslims.

This is painting is painted on a 20X20 inches stretched canvas. It is unframed.
